FALL 2010 Program Information:
The Swift Creek Lacrosse program was started in the Fall of 2002 and is open to both boys and girls. We follow the rules of play as governed by the NATIONAL FEDERATION OF STATE HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATIONS, with the exception of the U09 and U11 programs. In the last 7 years the program has grown from 300 to over 500 boys and girls ranging in ages from 5-19 playing on Recreational and Select teams throughout the state of Virginia. The success of the lacrosse program is the result of many dedicated volunteers. Interest and enthusiasm are the only requirements for playing.
Spring/Fall 2010 teams will consist of approximately 18-23 players. Our main practice field and field for home games is Clover Hill Athletic Complex on Genito Road. Other fields allocated by the County will be scheduled for practices. Practices are held 2-3 times a week at the beginning of the season and less when games begin. Practice times range from one to two hours depending on level of play. Practice times/number of practices per week are at the volunteer coaches discretion. The only way to guarantee your child a particular practice schedule is to volunteer as a coach for that team.

U07/U09 JUNIOR MINERS (Boys):
This is a clinic style program with emphasis on instruction and skills building and less on competition. This group meets one day a week for clinic style practices and plays games on Saturdays on a modified field with no goalies. The Spring season is more competitive than the Fall Season. Coaches are on the field during games and act as referees and help keep the players organized. Games are usually played at the Clover Hill Athletic Complex off Genito Road in Chesterfield County. In the Spring, games are played at other locations in the area.
U11 LIGHTNING (Boys/Girls):
The emphasis at the Lightning Program will still be on skills and instruction but players will be assigned to a team with a coach. Teams will be of equal talent and games will be played with normal rules with the exception of man up and man down situations. Games will be refereed by SC Lacrosse officials and will be played at various locations in Chesterfield County and the Richmond area. Fall season games are normally at Clover Hill Athletic Complex on Saturdays with a possibility of Thursday evening games. During the Spring season, games will be played at additional locations in the area.
U13 FLAMES (Boys/Girls):
The Flames program puts an emphasis on basic skills. Many beginners start playing lacrosse at this level. All aspects of the game are played at this level, with the introduction of man up and man down play. Games are played on a full size field with a goalie and are primarily played on the week-ends; however, some games may be scheduled during the week as needed. The Flames program will use various fields in Chesterfield County and some games may be scheduled at locations outside the Richmond Area during spring. Fall season games are normally at Clover Hill Athletic Complex on Saturdays with a possibility of Thursday evening games.
U15 (Boys/Girls):
The U15 program is open to players of all levels of ability, including beginners. Teams are formed as equal as possible with the emphasis on location of players first. This age group starts to line up with the player's future or current High School. Teams play on a full size field and play primarily on Saturday. Some games will be scheduled during the week. This program will use various fields in Chesterfield County and some games may be scheduled at locations outside the Richmond Area during spring season. Fall season games are normally at Clover Hill Athletic Complex on Saturdays with a possibility of Thursday evening games.
HIGH SCHOOL (Boys/Girls):
The HIGH SCHOOL program is open to players of all level of ability, including beginners. Teams will be formed by High School attended by each player. Teams play on a full size field and play some games on Saturday, but many games will be scheduled during the week. The Varsity program will use various locations in Chesterfield County, as close to the home school as possible. Games may be scheduled at locations outside the Richmond Area during spring season. Fall season games are normally at Clover Hill Athletic Complex on Saturdays with a possibility of Thursday evening games.
MIDDLE SCHOOL, JUNIOR VARSITY AND VARSITY SELECT (BOYS):
